Head Gardener Wanted
Full-Time seasonal position at private country club in WNY
Compensation: 20/Hour to 23/Hour
Full-time gardener needed for member owned private country club. This position requires a very self-motivated individual with experience and professionalism. Full time schedule 40 Hours a week.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Works with Superintendent in selection and ordering of plant materials.

Works closely with assistant superintendent on daily assignments and tasks.
- Organizes layout of beds and prepares landscape beds for planting.
- Maintains landscape beds, planters and hanging baskets around the clubhouse and golf course. Plant care maintenance includes watering, feeding, weeding, edging, dead heading, etc.
- Demonstrates proficiency in disease identification and insect damage of herbaceous and woody plants and ability to perform pest control. Spray license is helpful but not necessary.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties when called upon by Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.
- Applies flower arrangement skills for clubhouse and restaurant table displays.
- Oversees weekend care of plant material.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate must communicate well with management, staff and members with professionalism and a positive attitude. The preferred candidate is expected to have broad horticultural knowledge and apply best practices to care for a wide variety of flowers and plants. Professional landscape, nursery and/or country club experience preferred.
