Don't Wait to Donate an Item for the New York State Scholarship Auction!

Item Donation Deadline: March 1, 2026

We are still seeking item donations from destinations, attractions, hotels, restaurants, entertainment providers, and special packages to be auctioned off at the Destinations of New York State Scholarship Auction!

This annual event is dedicated to raising funds for the Destinations of New York State Scholarship Fund, supporting the next generation of tourism professionals. Each year, NYSTIA awards five (5) $2,000 scholarships to exceptional New York State college students within the tourism, hospitality and culinary fields. And we need your help expanding the program and investing in the next generation of industry leaders!

You can support the scholarship program at any time with a cash donation, or by item donations such as baskets, trip packages, entry tickets and more. There is no limit to what and how many items you can contribute!

👉 Challenge! The New York City region is currently dominating our current item donations list (thank you, NYC friends and partners!), and we are in dire need of some Upstate New York representation! Please share this with your more competitive contacts 😉

About The Fund: The scholarship fund, 100% supported by the membership of NYSTIA, is fiscally maintained by the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan Counties (CFOS), a 501c(3) charitable organization. Contributions are tax deductible*. CFOS awards the grants directly to the college, university or institution involved.

⚖️ Advocacy Matters to You

Thank You To All Who Joined the First Open Floor Advocacy Session!

Yesterday morning, the NYSTIA Advocacy Committee convened with over a dozen tourism professionals to kick off the inaugural Open Floor Advocacy Session. Attendees shared the creative actions they have taken to secure budgets, meet with new legislators, and more.

Action Requested: Support the New York Wine & Grape Foundation State Budget Request

As the State budget process enters a critical phase, the New York Wine & Grape Foundation’s (NYWGF) is asking for your support of funding request for State Fiscal Year 2026–2027. You can help by placing this letter on your organization's letterhead (don't forget to customize the fields), and sending it to both your State Senator and Assemblymember via email or post.

Across the State & Nation:

  • If NYS is late in sending you payment for services already delivered, please complete this form, which will be sent directly to the Governor’s Appointments Secretary Cathleen Benjamin, who has offered to help any nonprofit owed funds. A copy of the form will also go to NYCON. More than 40 nonprofits have already submitted!
  • Late last week, U.S. Travel asked their members for comments on the U.S. Customs and Border Protection's proposed revisions to the Arrival and Departure Record and the ESTA. NYSTIA submitted comments prior to the EOD deadline, in alignment with the NYSTIA Advocacy Committee and U.S. Travel Association.
