Welcome Message from

Host DMO and Event Co-Chair

I’m really looking forward to welcoming everyone to Corning this September for the New York State Tourism Excellence Awards & Summit.

There is something special about getting this group together — the conversations, the ideas, the energy, and the chance to learn from one another in a place that has long been shaped by creativity, craftsmanship, and innovation.

Corning is a community that invites you to slow down and take in the details. You see it in the historic streets, the walkable downtown, the galleries and shops, the glow of glassmaking, and the way creativity seems to show up around every corner. It is a place where big ideas and small moments live side by side.

We are excited to share that experience with you — not in a rushed way, but in a way that gives you time to enjoy the people, the place, and the moments between sessions. From meaningful conversations with colleagues to great meals in our local restaurants, a walk through the Gaffer District, or an evening surrounded by art, glass, and community, we hope Corning gives you space to reconnect with why this work matters.

This is a destination built on craftsmanship, hospitality, and imagination. It is also a place that reminds us that tourism is about more than visitation. It is about the stories we tell, the pride we build, the communities we support, and the experiences we create together.

I hope you will join us this September. We cannot wait to welcome you, show you around, and share a summit experience that feels thoughtful, inspiring, and uniquely Corning. See you soon in Steuben County!
