2020-2021 Seasonal Registration Open
Now is the time start registering your players who are participating in spring and summer leagues!

The only way to ensure that club players, team staff and club officials, are covered for medical insurance and liability coverage is by making sure they are all listed in RosterPro as part of your organization.

Completing registration within the club website does not ensure coverage for players. They must be registered with NYSW as well.

Questions about insurance coverage? The webinar recording and slides from our presentation in September can be found here.

Sports Specialization Study
Dear Youth Sport Parent,
My name is Stephen Strosser. I am currently pursuing a doctorate in Organizational Learning, Leadership, and Innovation from Wilmington University. My professional background relates to youth sports and fitness. Currently, I serve as a fitness specialist with Child and Youth Services at Fort Wainwright (an Army base in Alaska).
My doctoral dissertation focuses on parents’ beliefs about youth sport specialization (focusing on one sport at the exclusion of other sports). I am in the process of collecting data from youth sport parents throughout the United States.
There is limited research on parents’ beliefs about youth sport specialization. The purpose of this study is to examine youth-sport parents’ beliefs about specialization. The secondary purpose is to determine how well parents’ beliefs predict their children’s specialization status.
This study will provide much-needed insight on the specific parents’ beliefs that positively and negatively correlate with children’s specialization statuses. It will also help parents make an informed decision regarding their children’s sport participation pathway (e.g., single-sport specialization or multiple-sport participation).
The following survey will take only a few minutes to complete, and I would be very grateful for your participation. Your information will remain anonymous, and no individuals will be identified in any publications resulting from the study. A copy of the research findings will be made available to all participants upon request.
Your willingness to complete this online survey indicates your consent to participate in this study. You may refuse to participate or discontinue participation at any time without penalty. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. My email address is sstrosser001@my.wilmu.edu.
Sincerely,
Stephen A. Strosser, M.Sc.

  • “I think that the mental piece of performance is something I underestimated until I learned that you could actually train it.” (Jozy Altidore)
