2020-2021 Seasonal Registration Open
Now is the time start registering your players who are participating in spring and summer leagues!

The only way to ensure that club players, team staff and club officials, are covered for medical insurance and liability coverage is by making sure they are all listed in RosterPro as part of your organization.

Completing registration within the club website does not ensure coverage for players. They must be registered with NYSW as well.

Questions about insurance coverage? The webinar recording and slides from our presentation in September can be found here.

Coach / Parent / Athlete Resources
A Letter to my Parents
A fantastic short video put together by Arsenal academy players for their parents. The video encompasses much of what we discuss in our workshops around the importance of the type of support that we give as parents and how that is perceived by our children.

Body language can be as important as what we may say verbally and if we take a moment to reflect, many of these messages if taken on board are the ones that will lead to far more positive experiences for both children and their parents.

The Crucial Lesson Sports Parents Must Learn From COVID
Trying to find a diamond in the rough these days is like looking for a raisin in this gigantic pile of pandemic poop.

It ain’t easy.

That’s how it feels to write about Covid and youth sports. Many athletes lost their seasons, some their chance to play in college, and many lost loved ones. So to talk about a positive around youth sports feels, well, a little uncomfortable.

But this one is so important that I’m going there.

Black History Month: The Watsons of American soccer
The United States has well over 100 years of soccer history. Much of it has yet to be chronicled. The leagues don’t have the bandwidth to cover it, which leaves it to sports historical societies and fans to uncover. Recently, the Society for American Soccer History produced an incredible report on Fred and Oliver Watson, the first known African American soccer players in the United States.

Minor Athlete and Parent SafeSport Training
Policy 212-3 requires members to offer SafeSport training to youth participants. The U.S. Center for SafeSport offers this training free of charge to anyone.

This training is available without creating an account or going through the NGB Portal, and you can offer this training to your players and parents, but note that parental consent is required for any minor athlete to complete the training.
