Dear Raveetal,
We are excited that Naftali Hirsch will be visiting Temple Emunah as a second clergy candidate on the weekend of February 2-4.
We strongly encourage everyone in the community to attend as many of the activities outlined below as possible during the weekend. We will be sending out an evaluation so you can share your reactions.
Naftali Hirsch is a graduating rabbinical student at Hebrew College dedicated to building authentic relationships of substance. He brings this passion, as well as a love of rich Torah learning, deep spiritual practice, and working towards ḥesed (loving-kindness) and tzedek (justice) into his role as clergy of a Conservative Synagogue near Albany.
Naftali feels at home as a Jewish leader and educator inside of shul, in the Beit Midrash, on farms and kibbutzim, in forests, and in the garden. His perspectives have been shaped by his involvement in a number of Jewish organizations and communities including Hadar, Pardes, Drisha, T’ruah, Or haLev, Romemu, and Adamah (Ḥazon). Naftali experiences kedusha (holiness) in profound silence and in connecting at kiddush, on snowy mountains and exuberant davening. He also loves hiking, canoe trips, live music, and a good pickle. He’d love to hear a story about your life: what drives you, who are those you hold dear, and he is looking forward to spending Shabbat with our thriving community.
