Few religious leaders in our lifetime have worked on issues for two sitting US presidents, started prison ministries in two cities, worked with the World Council of Churches and the National Council of Churches (USA), met a Pope and Bishop Desmond Tutu (as well as so many other global religious leaders), published books, solo pastored, co-pastored and served as Senior Pastor. Rev. Elder Dr. Nancy Wilson, the second Moderator of MCC has done all this and more and she is NOT DONE YET!

While Nancy has been an outspoken leader on issues of social justice, inclusion and equity, climate change and eco-theology, she has also been a model for balancing work, life and play. She is always ready for a little fun in the midst of the work. Some of the photos here illustrate that! On a personal level, Nancy has been an avid birder for many years and has shared an amazing 45 years with her wife and partner Paula Schoenwether.

MCC is partnering with Rev. Elder Dr. Nancy Wilson and her home congregation, SunCoast MCC where she is the Senior Pastor, to celebrate her incredible 50 years of ministry in MCC. To mark this ministry milestone, we are working together to raise at least US$50,000. The funds raised will be shared between the global MCC to support translation, and SunCoast MCC (Venice, Florida). Nancy has always supported both the local and the global church. As you may know, Florida is a frontline for human rights at this very moment.  

So far we have raised approximately $30,000.
