October 2025

Hello, harvest!

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

As a fourth-generation Napa native, the change of seasons always reminds me of the deep roots and resilience of our community. This time of year holds both celebration and reflection, and I want to take a moment to recognize the many meaningful holidays and awareness recognitions that fall brings.

In October, we celebrate the harvest season, a time that has always been central to life in Napa Valley. We also observe World Mental Health Day (October 10th) and Indigenous Peoples’ Day (October 14th), honoring the original stewards of this land. And of course, we end the month with Halloween (October 31st), a reminder that community can also mean coming together in joy and fun. October is also a month of important awareness campaigns—Breast Cancer Awareness, Domestic Violence Awareness, Crime Prevention and Disability Employment Awareness. Each of these reminds us that behind the statistics are real people in our community who need compassion, resources, and support.

Being from Napa, I know how unique our community is—how much pride we take in our history, how we rally together in hard times, and how we celebrate the small joys that make life here so special. The next few months ahead give us plenty of opportunities to reflect, give back, and continue building the kind of Napa County where every family can thrive.

NEW PG&E Report It App

Please share this news with your friends, family, and colleagues! I am encouraging all PG&E customers to use the PG&E Report It app.

It's a great way to report non-emergency issues of concern; submit photos to their safety team; find submissions made by others; get notified when your submission is in review; and see PG&E’s findings. Please view this helpful 5-minute video here >> https://lnkd.in/gXiVxu6D

The PG&E Report It app is NOT for emergencies. If you suspect an emergency that may threaten property and physical safety, such as the smell of natural gas, leave the area and call 9-1-1. If you see downed powerlines, stay away. Don’t exit your car or home. Call 9-1-1. Then call PG&E at 1-800-743-5000.

September and early October were brimming with events that brought joy, connection, and support to our community. I was honored to join the Alzheimer’s Awareness Walk, Hands Across the Valley, the 9/11 Annual Memorial Service, the Napa County Sheriff’s Car Show, and the Harvest Dinner at Bale Grist Mill. I also spent some time at the construction site for the Dry Creek Bridge project and the Mt. Veeder retaining wall projects to see progress. A heartfelt thank you to all the organizers, volunteers, and participants who make these moments possible and keep our community shining bright.
