Hurricane Helene Response
|
As we join in prayer for our neighbors in the southeast who have experienced devastating loss from Hurricane Helene, we are invited to give as we are able to help with immediate response and long-term recovery. Colleagues in Dave Davis’s clergy group are working with their congregations to respond with water and food in their community. Montreat Conference Center, a place of spiritual formation for many over the years, welcomes donations as they plan for their own recovery and serve as a supply distribution center.
Thank you for giving directly (links below) or through Nassau Church using the “Give Now” button on our website (choose “disaster assistance” from the dropdown menu) or by check, designating “Hurricane” in the memo line.

Update on Sunday Morning Security
The team appointed by the Session would like to thank all who have volunteered to assist as a resource on Sunday mornings. We are also grateful for the input we have received as we put practices in place for every floor of the building. Recent additions have included improved communications in the building, panic buttons, and increased presence of folks to provide hospitality and watchful eyes. The presence of a security officer during Sunday morning worship services is pending as we continue to search for a company which can provide an individual who meets all of our requirements and who can be present on a regular basis. Additional recommendations on security measures will be brought to the Session as they are developed.
