Come celebrate Epiphany this Sunday and color our last poster from our Advent journey.
Dear families,

So then, if anyone is in Christ, that person is part of the new creation.
The old things have gone away, and look, new things have arrived!
2 Corinthians 5:17

This Christmas we heard the story of a new light and hope coming into an old world.  Now, like the shepherds and magi, we are called to tell the story, spread the light, and share the hope in our own community and beyond.  Join the upcoming Morning of Mission on Martin Luther King Jr. Day - it's one way to start. And don't forget Club 3-4-5 is back next week Friday, January 10, @ 5:30 PM. For more details, keep reading.

This Sunday, our Advent journey finally concludes with the arrival of the Magi who bring gifts from afar for the baby (child?) Jesus. We return to a regular worship schedule of two services at 9:15 and 11:00 am and church school for all at 9:30 am. Middle and high schoolers plus adults will gather in Assembly Room for January Intergen Ed - four weeks of four fabulous teachers on four biblical stories about trees. Princeton Theological Seminary President, Craig Barnes, kicks off the series teaching on the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in the Garden of Eden. Don't miss it!

with New Year hope,

Music Notes from Ingrid
Dear families,

Below is a picture of my dog Arden, resting this past week.  She drags her soft doggie bed around our house and makes good use of it when it is time for a nap. She is a steady reminder to me that rests matter, and quiet time spent wisely invites the soul to rejoice and reflect. She also reminds me of the importance of routine (I think she has a clock in her tummy).
In our church life, we have sung our Christmas carols, shared in a beautiful pageant, prepared for and celebrated the true light coming into the world. Now it is the season of Epiphany, and together we look to a new year to sing, celebrate and serve. Rest well all.  Looking forward to sharing this discipleship with you in 2020.

Looking Ahead:
  • Wednesday, January 8, Children's Choir rehearsals resume
  • Sunday, January 26, 9:15 am Choir 3-4-5 sings in worship
  • Sunday, March 1, 9:15 am, Choir 3-4-5, Carol Choir and Joyful Noise sing in worship
Peace,
Ingrid
