Dear families,

We celebrated a remarkable group of graduating 5th graders at last Friday's final Club 3-4-5 gathering of the year. As we sat in a circle on the parking lot pavement, the kids shared favorite Club 3-4-5 memories (mostly of playing Sardines and eating snacks). Participants were then invited to share words of affirmation to our graduating 5th grade friends. Each child had lovely, kind words said of them. "She did a great job playing our opening game." "He always makes me laugh." "She is a good friend." "I really like when he comes to Club 3-4-5."

A friend reminded me that we need to exercise our affirmation muscles. We forget to say the simple, true, and kind words about those we care for and live with - not just our family but those in our wider communities too.

So, thank you Nassau families! I have especially appreciated your support, participation, good humor, and patience (!) as we've navigated a tough year together as the people of God.

Because we know that trouble produces endurance, endurance produces character, and character produces hope. This hope doesn’t put us to shame, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit. Romans 5:3-4 CEB

with much gratitude,
