Hopefully you've enjoyed your Christmas, seen lots of friends and family, Netflixed too much, chopped some firewood, and taken the dogs for walks in the fields below my house.

Hey, that's what I did too!

Still we haven't seen enough of each other and I'm looking forward to Fellowship starting up again soon (details below). A decade is simply too short to spend with all you fine folk.

We're roaring into the '20s. Let's live it together.

LockIn Let's remember MLK's life and legacy together with our annual lock-in.  We'll help out in the Arm-in-Arm office, have a late night run to Hoagie Haven, and be grateful for the community that surrounds us.

Sunday Mornings
Trees of the Bible
Sundays, 9:30 a.m., in the Assembly Room

This January, our All Ages Class (middle school to adults) will return as we spend four weeks finding our way by looking at classic stories of "Trees of the Bible."
  • Jan 5: Craig Barnes, "Paradise Isn't Perfect: The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in Genesis"
  • Jan 12: Lindsey Trozzo, "The Burning Bush & the Name of God"
  • Jan 19: Theresa Thames, "The Oaks of Righteousness: Martin Luther King and Isaiah's Vision of Justice
  • Jan 26: Eric Gregory, "The Tree of Life & the American Utopia"
From Genesis to Revelation we will see how God's redemptive plan for the world is rooted in these stories, one tree at a time.

Continental breakfast of bagels, cream cheese, peanut butter, Nutella, fruit, coffee & hot chocolate will be available in the Conference Room at 9:15 a.m.
Will he still have the beard?

ChoirsChoir Notes

Dear Chorale & Cantorei,

Below is a picture of our dog Arden, resting this past week. She drags her soft doggie bed around our house and makes good use of it when it is time for a nap. She is a steady reminder to me that rests matter, and quiet time spent wisely invites the soul to peace and reflection. She also reminds me of the importance of routine (I think she has a clock in her tummy).

In our church life, we have sung our Christmas anthems, shared in a beautiful pageant, prepared for and celebrated the true light coming into the world.
Epiphany begins on Monday, celebrating the visit of the Magi to the Chirst-child in Bethlehem. They offered their gifts, and when we meet for rehearsals again NEXT Sunday, January 12th, we will mark the occasion by choosing a star from the gift basket. This will be a new season to sing, celebrate and serve.

Rest well all. Looking forward to sharing this discipleship with you in 2020.

Looking Ahead:
  • Rehearsals resume Sunday, January 12
(5:00 pm Cantorei, 6:40 pm Chorale)
  • February 9, 9:15 am, Chorale sings in worship
  • February 23, 9:15 am, Cantorei sings in worship
  • March 15, 9:15 & 11 am, both choirs lead YOUTH SUNDAY!

Peace,
