Welcome to our October 2011 newsletter!

Since we moved out West, there have been lots of great opportunities come our way in the past two months.

We have added ESPN SportsCenter anchor, Neil Everett, to the team; NBA Legend and 2012 Hall of Fame nominee, Spencer Haywood; Professional Skateboarder, Lizzie Armanto, who ranks #1 for female skateboarders; and we have even stepped up to help professional agencies such as Mindy R. Smith's family law practice.

We helped Disney's special events with the film premiere of the movie, "Real Steel" starring Hugh Jackman and Usain Bolt's Charity Foundation in L.A. with his official watch company, Hublot. We also worked alongside the editors of ESPN the Magazine for a client feature in their 3rd annual "The Body Issue"!
USA Track & Field and Olympic Gold Medalist, Natasha Hastings, Poses Nude for ESPN the Magazine's "THE BODY ISSUE"

Imagine our surprise when we received a phone call from ESPN the Magazine. They wanted Natasha Hastings for ESPN the Magazine's "THE BODY ISSUE". "Sure," we said remembering Serena Williams on the inaugural cover in 2009. "Well for this issue," the deputy editor told me, "there are no partially nude athletes..."Everyone will be nude."  GULP!

Now... imagine our nervousness and excitement all at the same time in having to tell our client, Natasha Hastings, that ESPN wants her,  but they want you to pose nude. "Please don't bite my head off" was the first phrase I uttered to my client as she picked up the phone. I was eager to tell her the news but nervous what she might say. Well, we are glad to say Natasha was game, but definitely nervous about the details of the shoot. ESPN the Magazine's editors were hands-on in explaining how the shoot would go and making Natasha feel comfortable. She was able to speak to the photographer, Luis Sanchis (who also shot Hope Solo) days before her shoot in Miami. Ultimately, Natasha would have creative control on her poses and what she wanted to show or NOT show.

Check out her interview on ESPNW and let us know what you think about her photos from the ESPN the Magazine "THE BODY ISSUE"! The issue hits newsstands today!

Excerpt from the interview on ESPNW:

Have you ever felt self-conscious?

I didn't just wake up feeling this confident. I was teased a lot in junior high school and high school. I started track at 9, and had a runner's body at an early age. I was stronger than some of the boys in class. Plus, I didn't have the largest chest, so I got a lot of, "You look like a boy!" It bothered me a little bit, but I never lashed out.

My mom would always tell me I was beautiful. She was a runner, too, and she'd say, "Your body structure is a lot like mine at your age." I always thought my mom was the most beautiful person in the world.

Then I got to the age where all that stuff -- what people thought -- didn't matter. I realized teasing me was just other people expressing their own insecurities.

When did you settle into your own skin?

My junior and senior years of high school. That's when I stopped feeling self-conscious. I went to school in Manhattan, and I was exposed to fashion and taking risks. I started coming out of my shell and feeling like it was OK to look this way. At that time, I had also won gold in world juniors. Seeing other girls who looked like me at the event made a big difference; it opened my eyes.

What's your favorite thing about your body?

I love my six-pack and my arms. I love wearing tank tops and getting compliments on my shoulders. I like that I'm toned, but still look like a woman. I'm fit and I'm healthy. But it's not like I'm walking down the street flashing my six-pack and saying, "Hey, look at me!" I'm not spending hours on end doing crunches and ab work. Wearing shorts during practice or a bikini at the pool is about the extent of my showing off.

New Client Win!
NBA Legend and 2012 Hall of Fame Nominee, Spencer Haywood

We are excited to announce that we are now representing NBA Legend, Olympic Gold Medalist and 2012 Hall of Fame Nominee, Spencer Haywood, to our client roster.

Spencer Haywood is the controversial player who left college to play for the Seattle SuperSonics. Early-entry was not allowed in 1970, so the NBA sued Spencer and he sued back...all the way to the Supreme Court-and WON!

The Spencer Haywood ruling allowed players like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, and even Moses Malone, Larry Byrd and Dr. J to enter the NBA draft before their college graduation.

Mindy R. Smith on Good Day Atlanta "Ten Signs Your Marriage is Headed for Divorce"

New client Mindy R. Smith is a family lawyer. We secured an opportunity for her to be a regular contributor on the HuffingtonPost.com's DIVORCE section. Her first post, "Ten Signs Your Marriage is Headed for Divorce" made the front page of the HuffPost and landed Mindy a guest spot on Good Day Atlanta.

New Client Win! ESPN SportsCenter Anchor, Neil Everett

We are also happy to announce that we have added ESPN SportsCenter Anchor and Emmy-award winning sports personality, Neil Everett, to our client roster. He is known for his cool-surfer sayings and using Hawaiian-Aleutian lingo. The west coast fans love it because Neil is always sneaking in phrases into his broadcast that people who are familiar with West Coast culture would understand. His most popular catch-phrases are "Bartender...Jack" (referencing Jack Daniels), HOWZIT!, and to kick-off every broadcast "SportsCenter...RIGHT NOW!"

Since Neil Everett helped to expand ESPN in Los Angeles in 2009, we will be helping Neil to expand his brand throughout the Hollywood scene.

Recently, we connected Neil Everett to MC at Usain Bolt's charity fundraiser with his official watch company, Hublot and raised $100,000.

Also, we worked alongside Disney's Special Events to have Neil Everett MC the "Real Steel" movie premiere with Hugh Jackman, child actor Dakota Goyo, Sugar Ray Leonard, 50 Cent, Anthony Mackie and Evageline Lilly.

Neil Everett alongside Bernardo Osuna (both of ESPN-LA) introduced the stars as they hit the red carpet and met fans.

Special thanks to the VP at Disney's Special Event for allowing Neil Everett and #TealEllaBeePR to attend the movie premiere and after-party!
