2025 89th Annual National Tournament Announced

The 2025 89th annual NALG national tournament will be held October 3 - 5, 2025 with the practice round date of October 2, 2025. Although specific venue and service provider contracting is still in process, please be aware we do know the tournament will be held in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Tournament chairs, Steven G. Newcom (TX), Dick Martin (TX) and Don Lightburn (NM) will soon be finalizing arrangements with more specific tournament information, FAQ documents and entry forms expected to be released soon after January 1, 2025.

State Tournaments - Florida

Although the 2025 state tournament schedule is still being organized, the first tournament of the year has been scheduled. The Florida Association of Lefthanded Golfers (FALG) will be hosting the 2025 Florida State Lefty's Tournament on March 17th and 18th, 2025. The venue for the tournament will be the Saddlebrook Golf Resort & Spa in Wesley Chapel, FL.

More specific tournament information, FAQ's and entry forms are expected to be released in December, 2024.

Winter Golf Shows

Sid Miner from the NALG and Nate Doimer from the Minnesota Lefthanders will be participating in a joint program at the Minnesota Golf Show February 21-23, 2025. We hope to see old friends and make many new friends and future NALG and state tournament players during the show.

Also, Sid Miner and Dick Spong (NALG Marketing and Promotions Director) will be attending the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, FL January 22 - 24, 2025. Sid and Dick will be participating as attendees in 2025 while looking to open the doors to become show exhibitors in future years.

The absolute #1 recruiting tool for lefty golf tournament players is direct personal contact and interaction. To this end, the various state golf shows are a very effective way to reach lefty golfers. Is your state hosting a Winter Golf Show? If so, please contact Sid Miner so we can work towards participating with an NALG exhibit.

World Association of Left Handed Golfers (WALG)

The 29th World Lefthanders Championship will be held June 15 - 21, 2025 in Liverpool, England.

There's already been a lot of buzz from the Americans about attending the 2025 tournament. Let's plan to show up in force next year and bring home as many divisional championships as we can.

Click HERE for more 29th WALG world tournament information.

We have also been alerted that the British Lefthanded Golf Assn. (BLHGA) will be holding their national championship the week prior to the WALG tournament on June 9th and 10th, 2025. Contact Tony Broadhurst by clicking HERE for further tournament information and entry form.

National Tournament Division Champion Paintings

An added part of the 2024 national tournament division champion prize package was the receipt of an individualized painting commemorating their championship. Below is a copy of each of their paintings. Congratulations again to all the 2024 division champions.

These paintings were made possible as a result of funding for this purpose from an anonymous sponsor. We hope we can continue with this division champion prize package component in the future but is dependent on securing program sponsorship. Please contact Sid Miner for further information should you wish to sponsor this program in whole or in part for the 2025 national tournament.

Hole in One(s)!!

Congratulations to Indiana lefty and three-time national champion Jon Kelley for his recent hole-in-ones. That's right, Jon made his 8th and 9th hole-in- ones in less than 30 days!!

Michigan lefty Ron Schipansky also recorded his 9th hole-in-one this past summer.

We also want to recognize another Michigan lefty, Ted Kramer for this past summer shooting his young age of 75 for the first and second time over just a 2-day period.

Click HERE for more information regarding these three lefty's achievements.

Please let Sid Miner know of your hole-in-ones, tournament wins and/or other accomplishments so we can properly recognize your feats.

Have you kept abreast of the monthly blog in www.nalg.org?

Jon Kelley pens a monthly blog and posts to www.nalg.org. Jon posts some great commentary and is well worth your time to stop by and read his remarks.

Jon's October 2024 post highlights Matt McCarty, a rising lefty star on the PGA tour.

Did you know the NALG is a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible charitable organization?

In 2023 the NALG was reorganized and approved by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax deductible non-profit charitable organization.

The primary advantage with this 501(c)(3) designation is that NALG contributions and sponsorships can be made on a tax-deductible basis making us far more attractive to both individual and corporate sponsors.

Please contact Sid Miner if you would like further information as to how to make either an individual or corporate contribution to the NALG.
