We are looking forward to the 2021 National Black Book Festival in Houston, Oct. 21-23! The past year has been extremely challenging for us all. We hope you and your family are doing well during this pandemic and offer our condolences if you have lost any loved ones as a result.
At this time, we are hopeful we can hold an in-person event this year for our 14th anniversary. If not, it may be a hybrid or entirely virtual again. We will make a final decision by the end of May. For authors interested in participating, early bird registration ends Feb. 28th. Standard registration begins March 1 and there is a slight price increase. All registered authors that have at least made a deposit will be able to participate in the 2021 NBBF, regardless of the format.
If NBBF is a hybrid or virtual, there will be much greater limitations regarding the number of participating authors. As a result, it would be advisable to at least submit a deposit if you would like to participate this year. You may register online here: http://bit.ly/2SXAMma
Whether it is in-person, a hybrid, or entirely virtual, NBBF will again offer two full days of activities, informative seminars, high-profile featured authors, and book and t-shirt giveaways. Stay tuned for developments as they occur.
In the meantime, NBBF sponsors a weekly, live-streamed program called Black Authors Matter TV where we interview authors and other book industry experts every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. CST. On May 18 we will host the Black Authors Matter TV Awards which will honor the most compelling interview subjects in 11 categories.
