National Child Abuse Awareness & Prevention Month

Twenty-two years ago this month Adoption Option Inc. became licensed to provide child welfare services to help children in need.

During our early years, we initially provided adoption services only. A few years later, we added foster care and foster home licensing services. Subsequently, we added Youth Services and Family Preservation Programs. Later, we began offering services where people who have demonstrated resilience through their lived experience help us innovate how we assist families in our Building Community Partners program. As a result of the expanded types of services we now provide, we commonly describe our organization as Adoption Option Inc – Child Welfare Organization (AOICWO) to reflect our entire service array.

We are grateful for the many donors who made it possible for our staff to serve, collectively in 2025, more than 1,700 people in 28 counties! We are rapidly approaching our community’s annual Give Local Midland Campaign on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. If you choose to help non-profits in either Midland or Bay County during the Give Local online campaign, we hope you will consider contributing to the children we serve.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. This month and throughout the year, Adoption Option, Inc. encourages individuals and organizations to play a role in making our community a better place for children and families.

By ensuring that parents have the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to care for their children, we can help promote the social and emotional well-being of children and youth and prevent child maltreatment within families and communities.
