CELEBRATING COHOUSING, ALL TOGETHER
|
2nd Annual National Cohousing Open House Day on April 29th
|
Open houses are great opportunities for communities to recruit members and educate the public, and when coordinated across the country there's potential to exponentially increase the amount of attention individual events receive.
Consider coordinating with other communities in your region!
If you're in California, contact Jenny to help coordinating our state's efforts.
Have you signed your community up yet? You needn't be an established community, or even have property yet to participate. Use this nationally-recognized day to grow your numbers as a forming group. Meet at a local coffee shop, show off your plans/land, or host a creative community event. If you are already established, grow your waiting list and local interest base by holding a site tour on this day!

Susan Pinker's book,
The Village Effect: Why Face-to-Face Contact Matters was published in 2014, and revealed the importance of in-person social networks to our overall health and well-being.
We, quite literally, need community.
"
Once you recognize that you need more than pixelated, electronic ties, and more than a handful of close friends and family to keep you healthy and happy, you can stay where you are. By cultivating a community of diverse, person-to-person relationships, you can build your own village, right where you live."
