Cybersecurity Across the Curricula

Have innovations, new ideas or advancements in cybersecurity to share with the community? The National CyberWatch Center is accepting submissions for the 3rd annual Innovations in Cybersecurity Education Awards and Recognition Program. Top picks will be awarded in the following categories: Evidence-based Strategies, Instruction, Practice and Program Development. Submissions will be accepted through May 3.

Cybersecurity Skills in the IT Workforce
This latest Virtual Brown Bag Lunch showcased a flexible bootcamp format that blended assessment-driven, adaptive, online learning with tutorial- and challenge-based labs to help upskill cybersecurity professionals. Watch the video for an overview of the bootcamp content.

Free Resources
National CyberWatch has compiled five, free, timesaving resources to help keep any cybersecurity program up-to-date and in-line with 
the latest technologies. These resources include a first of its kind Information Security Curricula Guide, the 2018 Innovations in Cybersecurity Education publication, the inaugural 2017 Innovations in Cybersecurity Education publication, the peer-reviewed Cybersecurity Skills Journal: Practice and Research “3CS Anniversary Special Issue – Five Years of Raising the Capability Maturity Bar” and a National Centers of Academic Excellence (CAE) Guide for Mapping Courses to Knowledge Units.

CyberCon Conference
San Juan College, in Farmington, New Mexico, is hosting its fourth annual CyberCon Conference, March 27 and 28, to focus on key cybersecurity topics. The first day is geared toward business and industry professionals, where cybersecurity experts will talk about how to keep businesses safe from attack. The second day is for middle and high school students - Youth and Family Day - where everyone can learn about fighting crime online and hardening identity, among other issues. New Cyber Warfare Range
Pima Community College, a National CyberWatch member, opened a new cyber warfare range in January to teach students and community members everything and anything about cybersecurity. The only range in the state, it’s meant to help individuals develop their cybersecurity skills and collaborate with others.
