Thanks to a grant from the National Science Foundation, students can attend the Community College Cyber Summit Job Fair and Career Exploration as well as the conference (July 30-Aug. 1) for free and receive a travel allowance. The Job Fair, at Bossier Parish Community College, will allow students to speak with employers from government, business and industry sectors, and learn about job and internship opportunities. The deadline to apply is May 22.

Learn How to Get Your Cybersecurity Paper Published
Join the next National CyberWatch Virtual Brown Bag Lunch webcast, “Cybersecurity Skills Journal (CSJ) Paper Development Workshop," May 8 from 1-3 p.m. ET. Dr. David H. Tobey, managing editor of the CSJ, will discuss the manuscript review process and, with the assistance of CSJ Editorial Board and Peer Review Panel members, help participants work through their ideas or drafts of a manuscript reporting evidence-based practices, theoretical frameworks or case studies.

Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity Course
National CyberWatch is promoting interdisciplinary cybersecurity learning modules. This month's focus is on a Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity course created by CyberWatch West and the George Mason University’s Center for Infrastructure Protection and Homeland Security. Resources include: lecture slides, reading assignments, hands-on activities, and a test bank.

Yes, that’s right – it is time for all our academic institutions to renew their membership in the National CyberWatch Center. Here’s the good news: only the designated “Faculty Contact” (aka “bundle administrator”) needs to log on, access their profile page, and click the “RENEW to Sept 2020” button. That renewal date will be reflected in all the individual faculty member records associated with that school.

2019 Teacher Camp
The University of Maryland University College (UMUC) is hosting the GenCyber 2019 Teacher Camp for Maryland and D.C. high school science, technology, engineering and math teachers interested in incorporating cybersecurity into their curriculum. The goal of the week-long intensive program, July 8–12, is to help teachers improve their cybersecurity content delivery methods in their high school STEM curricula. The deadline to apply is May 13.

An innovative partnership between state governors and CyberStart provides opportunities for students to identify their cybersecurity potential and rewards top performing students with cash prizes and scholarships. The Governors Cyber Skills Program consists of two free programs: Girls Go CyberStart and Cyber FastTrack.
