In Honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (Orange Shirt Day), The Chamber has committed to utilizing all of our platforms to amplify and celebrate Indigeneity in our region and across the nation. We acknowledge that this message is being sent to you from the traditional territories of the Mattagami and Matachewan First Nations in the Treaty 9 Region.

The Chamber is dedicated to standing with our Indigenous members in recognition of this day. We walk the path together and share as part of our Reimagined Resiliency Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility pillar supported by Ontario Power Generation.

Let us reflect on the importance of the lands that we each call home. We do this to reaffirm our commitment and responsibility to improve relationships between nations and improve our own understanding of local Indigenous peoples and their cultures. From across the province, we acknowledge the ancestral and unceded territory of all the Inuit, Métis, and First Nations people who call this land home.

We have compiled this email to provide some insight into the history and significance of Orange Shirt Day, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, and promotional material in support of First Nations and Indigenous Peoples.
