WHYY has been running their Media Labs program for seven years. Participating students learn about video and audio production, problem solving, teamwork, and other life skills. In 2018, the program expanded into special education classrooms and has since served 173 Autistic Support students from 1st through 12th grade, in six schools. For some students, using tools like cameras allow them to communicate in ways that verbal communication doesn't.
Moses Bangura, a former intern of the Media Labs program, was featured in a recent panel discussion at Drexel University that focused on creating inclusive workplaces for neurodiverse individuals.

WQLN's book nooks give children a safe space to learn and explore. Children will find PBS KIDS books that celebrate diversity to reflect the reading interests of the entire community. Older children will find books that interest them too. The best part? Children can take the books to keep for their home libraries!
WQLN also has a book club for kids - check out Q-Kids Reader for more information!
