AATF Commission on Colleges and Universities Webinar

"Involving Undergraduate and Graduate Students in AATF: Colleges and Universities Commission Initiatives."

with Jessica Sturm (Purdue University) and Marie Schein (Texas Christian University), Commission Co-Chairs

November 9, 4 PM Eastern/3 PM Central/2 PM Mountain/1 PM Pacific/ 11am Hawaii (this webinar will be recorded and available for viewing at a later date)

This webinar invites faculty at colleges and universities to (re)engage with the national association in new and innovative ways. We will discuss how their research enables faculty to design theme-based content courses that, in turn, afford their students research and creative opportunities of their own that can lead to the development of special sessions at convention.

A special session reflects the faculty's research foci and the students' work as they, too, explore salient topics therein, opening the door to potential publications.

The French Teaching Internship Program implants native French speaker teaching interns in US public schools that have French dual language or immersion programs. These assistants support head teachers, work with small groups, and assist students one-on-one. The assistants encourage students to express themselves orally in French and often bring a playful dimension to learning through exercises that invoke socio-cultural themes likely to interest children and adolescents.

The AATF is an inclusive association, which seeks to build, value, honor and cultivate diversity. Associations that are diverse in age, race, ethnicity, faith, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, and perspectives are better associations. To this end, we seek to create a community where educators, from any background, can promote francophone cultures around the world.
