We are recognizing Ed Doody for his outstanding board service to the National Girls Collaborative Project.
Ed Doody
Ed Doody joined the board in 2014 because he believes in NGCP's vision to bring together organizations throughout the United States that are committed to informing and encouraging girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

We thank him for his outstanding contribution and service to the NGCP Board of Directors. Please read this Tribute to former Board Chair, Ed Doody.
National Webinar, The National Math Festival: Engaging Girls in Math Fun!

National Webinar, CryptoClub: Exploring Mathematics in a Playful and Engaging Way

NGCP is proud to partner with the University of Chicago on the CryptoClub project to reach youth around the nation with this high quality mathematics and cryptography curriculum. The CryptoClub Project develops materials that harness the allure of secret messages to teach cryptography and mathematics. In addition, teachers and informal educators receive training and resources to introduce students to an exciting and important application of mathematics in a REGISTERplayful and engaging way. On this webinar, we will hear from the team at the University of Chicago as well as trainers and educators who have participated in the project.

Each month, this spotlight will highlight new programs, resources, and role models that are part of the IF/THEN Initiative, an initiative from Lyda Hill Philanthropies designed to activate a culture shift among young girls and introduce them to STEM careers.

Meet IF/THEN Ambassador Dorothy Tovar. Dorothy is pursuing a PhD Candidate in microbiology and immunology at Stanford University. Dorothy researches immune responses in bats to understand their remarkable ability to host viruses that are dangerous to humans without getting sick themselves. Recently, Dorothy participated in a Reddit expert Ask Me Anything panel where she helped provide accurate information about the COVID-19 outbreak. You can follow Dorothy on Instagram or on LinkedIn.

CSTA Conference  
Now Virtual Week of July 13, 2020
The Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) conference is now a virtual conference. While participants will not be meeting together in Arlington, VA, CSTA will still put on the same conference you've come to love - created by teachers, for teachers. Boost Conference Logo 2018 BOOST (Best of Out-of-School Time) Conference 
Rescheduled Palm Springs, CA; October 26-29, 2020
The BOOST conference has been rescheduled for October 2020. All attendees, exhibitors, and sponsors currently registered will have the opportunity to transfer their April 28-May 1, 2020 registration(s) to the fall BOOST Conference dates. Participants will have the opportunity to network, participate in team-building activities, and learn about the latest trends and research in innovative and quality out-of-school time programming. ISTE Conference & Expo

The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) has rescheduled ISTE20. Recognized as the most comprehensive educational technology conference in the world. SpotlightConnectory
The Connectory Spotlight highlights tips, resources/events, program providers, and STEAM opportunities for youth listed in The Connectory. This free online collaboration tool for program providers helps them find partners based on interests, and showcase STEAM opportunities for youth to families.

The Connectory has many online STEAM learning opportunities for youth. Check back often, this list will be growing in the weeks to come.

To support all educators during this difficult time, NSTA is offering a free 30-day membership, providing access to more than 12,000 digital professional learning resources and tools.

SciGirls CONNECT
SciGirls knows it can be difficult during this time to keep kids engaged in education while stuck at home. Visit SciGirls CONNECT for fun yet educational STEM activities and videos (also available in Spanish). Build and code your own wildlife camera, use code to turn music into a visual display, design a planter out of recycled materials, and improve your favorite water bottle with the Insulator Innovator activity.
