Mireille Soria, Head of Animation for Paramount Pictures, will share unique insights, focusing on the imperative role Paramount Pictures is playing by presenting girl-positive, STEM-supportive media. We welcome our newest member Andrea Lattanner. Andrea is the Out of School Time Program Manager with Microsoft Philanthropies digital skills team which works to increase access to high-quality computer science education and decrease gaps in participation through working partnerships with nonprofit organizations.
National Champions Board members are industry representatives, informal learning educators, gender equity experts, science and mathematics education representatives, and educational policy experts.

NGCP Joins IF/THEN Initiative to Promote Women in STEM
NGCP is thrilled to announced a new grant from IF/THEN, an initiative of Lyda Hill
Philanthropies supporting women in STEM. We will work in partnership with Association of
Science-Technology Centers (ASTC) to host a digital asset library that features women scientists on the FabFems platform so nonprofits can download content to leverage on their own media, websites, and other publications.

SciGirls Educator Workshop at the National MagLab
Tallahassee, FL; March 25, 2019
SciGirls Trainings integrate inquiry-based STEM instruction with a commitment to gender equity. Attendees will learn the latest research for exciting and engaging girls (and boys) in STEM, experience hands-on STEM activities, and gain access to free materials for hands-on, video-enhanced activities that put a creative twist on teaching STEM. Developed by The Franklin Institute, this program integrates open-ended science activities with children's books. Designed for children ages 3-10 and their families. Girl Power Day (March 24, Maryland). Hands-on, maker-based activities and workshops inspired by trailblazing women in STEM throughout history, with opportunities to meet female STEM innovators from the local community. Participants will use power tools from the woodshop, programming robotic creations, engineering motorized vehicles, and more-all designed to build confidence and spark STEM interests.
Girls in Robotics Leadership (GIRL) Camp (June 10 - Aug 9, Texas). This nationwide "camp in a box" program is offered by UC Davis C-STEM Center and aims to inspire girls (entering 7-8th grades) to pursue STEM through peer mentoring and exciting robotics and coding curriculum.
Girls Exploring Engineering Summer Camp (July 15-19, Pennsylvania). Designed to provide girls (ages 15-18) the opportunity to discover the role engineering plays in medical and diagnostic devices, alternative energy, drug delivery systems, building and waste disposal systems, electronics, and manufacturing production.
