AAAS IF/THEN Ambassadors Program
The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) has opened the application period for the AAAS IF/THEN Ambassadors program which will bring together 100 women from a variety of STEM careers to serve as high-profile role models for middle school girls. NGCP has partnered with IF/THEN, an initiative of Lyda Hill Philanthropies, to host a digital asset library that features women scientists on the FabFems platform. Before we can begin to showcase 100 incredible women as role models, we need your help to spread the word and
identify 100 dynamic women! If you know of an inspiring woman who would
make an incredible Ambassador, we encourage you to share the news about the AAAS IF/THEN Ambassadors program with her.

Leap Into Science Wind Training at the Discovery Center Murfreesboro, TN; May 17, 2019 Leap into Science is a nationwide program developed by The Franklin Institute Science Museum that integrates open-ended science activities with children's books, designed for children ages 3-10 and their families. The program empowers educators to offer workshops in community settings like libraries, museums, and out-of-school time programs to engage underserved audiences in accessible and familiar settings. Register.
Leap Into Science Educator Training Poulsbo, WA; May 22, 2019 Leap into Science programs integrate open-ended science activities with children's books, designed for children ages 3-10 and their families. Washington State Library is partnering with libraries, museums, and other afterschool providers to build capacity for STEM learning across our state using this nationwide program from The Franklin Institute Science Museum and the Free Library of Philadelphia. By choosing to participate in this training, your library is committing to provide a total of three family workshops. Register.

Bulk Uploads: We offer a streamlined way to add dozens of opportunities (camps, workshops, maker fairs, competitions, and other time-bound STEAM events). Contact us at
info@theconnectory.org and we will create a customized spreadsheet that you fill out with the required info for each opportunity (title, description, cost, etc.) Once the completed spreadsheet is returned to us, we will upload and approve the opportunities. Depending on the cycle(s) and number of your offerings, uploads can be done monthly or seasonally.

Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) Worldwide; May 16, 2019 GAAD occurs each year to get people talking, thinking, and learning about digital (web, software, mobile, etc.) access/inclusion and people with different disabilities. GAAD encourage designers, developers, usability professionals, and the general public to take an hour to experience first-hand the impact of digital accessibility (or lack thereof). Participate.
Girl Up Leadership Summit: Mexico Mexico City; May 25, 2019 This is the first Summit in Mexico. Youth (ages 13-22) will have the opportunity to improve leadership skills towards gender equality. Workshops will focus on activism, education, and leadership. Participants will connect with young people from Latin America and the Caribbean who are interested in gaining knowledge and tools to empower, educate and help their communities, as well as learn more about the United Nations Foundation.
