What's new on your National Grid Bill!
National Grid recently made some updates to their bill. We think some of these changes will make it easier for our customers to see where Northern Power & Light charges originate and offer greater clarity.
Community Hydro Overview

Each Northern Power & Light customer receives a share of the electricity produced by one of our hydropower facilities, Azure Mountain Power or Sissonville Hydro. The power you receive generates a credit on your National Grid bill, reducing the Amount due.
New Summary of CDG Credit

While historically it has been difficult to understand exactly how credit from Northern Power & Light is being applied, the updated National Grid bill provides a dedicated summary.
Since Northern Power & Light service utilizes a program called "Community Distributed Generation", or "CDG," the new summary refers to credit generated by Northern Power & Light as "CDG Credit."

"CDG Credit - Applied to this Bill" is the amount by which your current bill was reduced, and this will always line up with your next bill from Northern Power & Light.

The rest of the summary details both how new credit is being accumulated, as well as how unused credit is carried forward for future use.

Any remaining “Amount Due” on your National Grid bill is still owed to the utility.
