The NHIC (National Health Information Center) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has joined the ISfTeH global network as a member.

The NHIC has been given the mandate to further develop Digital Health and Information Technology across the health sectors in Saudi Arabia. The Center is intending to provide several Digital Health and Informatics services to all the health sectors in KSA. These services include a national Health Information Exchange, a National Unified Medical Record, disease surveillance, statistical reporting.

The NHIC has also launched an initiative to offer telehealth services through the Saudi Telehealth Network (STN). The goal of this initiative is to establish, and supervise the operations and maintenance of STN in order to link providers with patients to deliver high quality and cost-effective care regardless of location. The STN offers, among others, the following services:
  • Virtual Clinic (Covid-19)
  • Tele-homecare
  • Chronic Disease Monitoring
  • Tele-triage
  • Tele-radiology
  • Tele-ICU
  • Tele-ER
  • Tele-pathology
  • Sleep & Respiratory Monitoring
  • Tele-stroke
  • Tele-trauma
  • Tele-dentistry
