Economic ideas play an important role in society mobilizing individuals, social strata and classes toward the adoption/rejection of economic proposals articulated by intellectuals and politicians. This event will focus on the evolution of economic ideas within countries. The speaker will analyze Greece as an example of a 19th century introverted economy that adopted a wide range of guiding economic principles, before integrating itself in the global division of labor and a mainstream economic discourse.
