The July Customer of the Month is
Patrick Trumbauer
of Waterloo.
Patrick and his family fell in love with Hansen's milk when they stopped into the Waterloo store for an ice cream treat and grabbed a gallon.
"
The kangaroo on the label made our kids think that it was kangaroo milk, and they said it tasted so good," he said. The family also enjoys the ice cream, cheese curds and beef products. "The Wagyu beef is so good with a nice sear and a beer," he added.
Patrick and his wife and enjoy shopping locally and trying new foods. They like knowing the story behind what they are consuming.
"Your products taste fresh, and that makes Moo Roo an easy choice to pick up local products," he said. "Spotlighting other Iowa-made products is also important to us as you are able to bring new products to the Cedar Valley."

Next in our series of cows in the 150-pound club is the July Cow of the Month,
La-Z-Girl
(pronounced Lazy Girl).
La-Z-Girl is 5 1/2 years old. She was born Dec. 20, 2014, and we got the idea for her name when we set her on the easy chair (La-Z-Boy) in the cow office :) La-Z-Girl has given birth to four calves, three bulls and one heifer, which we named La-Z-Susan. She now also has a granddaughter named La-Z-River!
La-Z-Girl produced 150 pounds of milk on test day, which is 17 gallons per day. She has also hit the 100,000-pound lifetime mark. That puts her on par with her grandmother, Len, one of the oldest, most productive and genetically superior cows we've ever had at Hansen's Dairy. La-Z-Girl comes from a long line of quality cows and is sure to leave her own legacy as well. She is anything but lazy!

I’d make the coffee a little stronger than you like, as the ice will dilute it. You can also use any number of Hansen’s Dairy Ice Cream flavors. I wouldn’t say no to some shaved Candy Kitchen Fudge to top it off, either! Remember to use this month's

Prep Time: 10 min + chill time for coffee
Serves: 4 or more
*Items that can be purchased at Hansen’s Dairy Stores
|

- 4 cups brewed Sidecar or Fat Cup Coffee*, completely chilled
- 1 pint Hansen’s Dairy Ice Cream* (Vanilla, Chocolate, or Coffee flavor)
- 10-15 ice cubes or 2-3 cups crushed ice
- Hansen’s Dairy Cream* or Milk* to taste
- Optional for garnish: Ground coffee, cinnamon, nutmeg, cocoa

- Brew the coffee to your taste, making it a little stronger than normal (the ice will dilute it).
- Completely chill (you can make it the night before and refrigerate overnight).
- Place ice cubes in blender or other 2-quart food processor (i.e. Ninja) and process until crushed. Divide crushed ice into cups.
- Pour chilled coffee into blender. Add ice cream and blend until well mixed and frothy. Add cream and/or milk and mix well.
- Pour over ice and add garnish, if desired.
- Enjoy!
