September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month, a time when the Library joins with the American Library Association and public libraries nationwide to make sure that everyone has the most important card in their wallet–a free library card!
In celebration of Library Card Sign-Up Month, we are partnering with 10 local businesses during the entire month of September. Businesses from all over Redford are offering discounts to customers who present their library card!
Discounts and promotional codes will be valid between Wednesday, September 1st, and Thursday, September 30th.

One Search, Every Format
Coming soon! Starting on September 7th, you may notice some changes to the Redford Twp. District Library's online catalog. When you search for a book or another item in our collection, you’ll get every format grouped together in one field. Stay tuned for more information.

Every Saturday starting September 18
A weekly take-home kit to help preschoolers learn letters, numbers, shapes, colors, and more! This take-home kit will include information on teaching your child to identify letters including games, puzzles, and activities. Sign up here.

Each kit contains an illustrated book of events from the decade, CDs with popular songs, DVDs of popular movies, and a trivia game. Perfect for themed parties or just to revisit a favorite time in your past. We have Decade kits for the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s. Kits are located in our Library of Things, next to the elevator in the DVD section.
