Safety Topic: Fire Prevention |
|
In order for a fire to occur, three elements, frequently shown as the "fire triangle," are required.
All sides of the triangle must come together before a fire can occur. The goal of a fire safety program is to keep these elements apart.

Here are just a few examples of how to control the various elements that could cause a fire:
- Placing combustible scraps, debris, or waste such as oily rags into airtight containers for either disposal or storage;
- Inspecting electrical outlets, cords, machines and equipment;
- Storing flammable liquids in fire lockers in closed containers
|
|
|
It is everyone's responsibility to be on the lookout for fire hazards - and either immediately correct them, or report them to management. |
