National Newsletter - December 2016

We live in interesting times.

That could be the understatement of the year.  These interesting times cause us to experience the range of emotions - from joy to desperation, all of which are valid.

What's amazing about the women of TTN is that we don't want to sit by and let the world move forward without us.  We're paying attention and are ready to participate in activities and support causes that move us.

The recent Presidential election is the perfect example of this.  Our members represent all sides of the topic, which is one of the reasons this is such an amazing organization.  All views need to be respected.  And we need to ensure that all parties - individuals, groups, and the organization - are able to voice opinions without harm.

The link below will take you to TTN's "Guidance for Organizational Advocacy, Activism, and Member Participation in Politics."  This document is designed to clarify how we can pursue our individual passions while protecting TTN's standing as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.  Some of these guidelines are very clear - IRS rules are rules.  Other activities are less so.

Please read this important information, then follow your passions.   Link to document

Website Launch a Success!

During the overnight hours of November 11-12, we upgraded the structure of our website and delivered an entirely new platform that will support our growth in the coming years.  Along with the new structure, we now have many new features to help chapter leaders present TTN activities and programs to members, and new streamlined processes to manage our finances.

For members, we have increased security, which is why we've asked everyone to upgrade their password.  Your personal information is safer and your credit card information is (and always has been) forwarded immediately to our merchant for processing.

Thank you to our programming partner, Wresting Control Solutions (Bob), for his brilliant work, not just for the endless hours of re-building the site structure but for his extraordinary understanding of TTN allowing us to strengthen our business processes.  I also want to thank Barbara Alpern, Fatima Class and Tess Waldman, and all the others who provided input and feedback along the way to make this Website Stabilization Program a success.

New Legal Documents

Along with the new features of Website 2.0, we have two updated policies that all members and users of our website should understand. These policies are available via links at the bottom of every page of our website, and also here:

Please take the time to read these important legal documents.  If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected].
