NATIONAL POETRY MONTH
April is National Poetry Month! In 2021, the Academy of American Poets is celebrating the twenty-fifth anniversary of this annual celebration.

In honor of the month, we are happy to host local poets for a Virtual Reading. Join us on Monday, April 19 at 6:30pm to meet poets Angela Narciso Torres, Naoko Fujimoto, Dilruba Ahmed and Karen Llagas. Moderated by Aileen Cassinetto, Poet Laureate of San Mateo County. Learn more

Millions of viewers discovered Amanda Gorman and her powerful poetry during the inauguration of President Joe Biden. We have compiled lists of books that carry similarly inspiring and socially charged messages from various bestselling poets from around the world. View our book list and eBook/eAudiobook list. Here is a poetry list for kids. Last but not least, look for a poetry option in this month's Curbside Pickup Grab Bags. Enjoy reading poetry this month!
