On Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 11 a.m., the interfaith community of the United States of America will gather at Washington National Cathedral for a Service of Prayer for the Nation.
Because President Trump, Vice President Vance, and a large number of other dignitaries are expected to be present, the service will be live-streamed at https://cathedral.org/about/service-info/ and on the cathedral’s YouTube site.
Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington will preach. Bishop LaTrelle Easterling, episcopal leader of the Baltimore-Washington and Peninsula-Delaware Area of The United Methodist Church, will offer prayer. She will pray about God’s love and God’s call for us to be present with all people so that we may faithfully minister and witness to God’s love and grace to all the world.
This service has taken place since 1933 and is a non-partisan, ecumenical service of unity for the nation.
