Join us for Connecticut's National Prevention Week 2022 (K-12) Art Contest!

SAMHSA's National Prevention Week (NPW) is an annual health observance in May dedicated to increasing public awareness and action around substance use disorder prevention, suicide prevention and mental health promotion. 


We invite all (K-12) students in Connecticut to submit black-and-white artwork for a coloring book using Connecticut's NPW mascot, Starfish Stella, linked to a theme from the eight categories of developmental assets


Up to three winners will be selected. Winners will receive two tickets to the Connecticut NPW Event, on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the Discovery Museum in Bridgeport, CT. All qualifying submissions will be posted on the National Prevention Week webpage on the Connecticut Clearinghouse website and winning artwork will be featured at the NPW Event.

All forms and entries must be completed, signed, scanned and submitted via email to Agnes Skowron at [email protected], no later than 5:00 pm on April 4th.


Submissions will be evaluated in mid-April and participants will be apprised shortly afterward.
