National Safety Month: Facility Access

At Care Resource, keeping staff, patients, and visitors safe is one of our top priorities. The health center has implemented ways to differentiate our staff and patients. Wearing your ID Badges and enforcing patients to wear their visitor’s pass enhances the security of the health center. Care Resource has policies and plans in place, and they are as follows:

ID BADGE

Identification cards help us to maintain the presence of security and can act as a deterrent to outsiders. Therefore, all staff must wear their ID Badges visibly at all times.

It is the responsibility of all staff to report any lost or damaged ID Badge to the Human Resources Department for a replacement.

VISITOR PASS

A visitor’s pass is a printed piece of paper with the individual’s names and other relevant information printed. Visitor passes are vital for security and have been used by businesses to control access and increase security by identifying the visitors and vendors entering the facility.

Providing visitor passes to all patients/visitors is an efficient way to distinguish the patient from the employee. When providing patients/visitors with a visitor’s pass, we ensure that no unauthorized individuals are present on site.

Therefore, all patients/visitors must check in with Security to obtain a visitor’s pass before entering the health center.

SECURITY

The Appointed Security Company exists to provide and promote the safest possible physical environment using a systematic approach based on the mission and vision of Care Resource.

The security personnel works with Care Resource to reduce the risk of violence, assesses concerning behavior, and recommends strategies to minimize violence.

Security Officers are present in the Midtown Miami, Little Havana, and Oakland locations.

The Security Officer is responsible for assuring security efforts at facilities to reduce overall risk. The security officer is also responsible for incident handling and reporting any security breach as outlined in training. Security officers must also notify appropriate departments of possible security infringements, always adhering to Care Resource policies, regulations, and standards. Security officers are responsible for providing oversight of the equipment security, staff, and patrons. Security officers must follow the Appointed Security Company protocol, always abiding with all applicable laws and regulations.
