Owner Handler Events
The AKC National Owner Handled Series has become increasingly popular. At some shows, over 50% of the entries are Owner Handled eligible! The DPCA has a series of event planned to help you improve your skills and to showcase your Doberman.
Once again, Colleen Nicholson and team will offer an
all day seminar focused on preparing your dog for the ring and your handling skills
. This seminar was well attended last year and received rave reviews on the feedback forms. Colleen will cover a multitude of topics and you can stay for the entire session or drop in for the topics you are interested in. Even if you are not an owner handler, you can learn how to better prepare your dog for your handler
.

DPCA members that are in
Top 20 standings of the 2019 AKC NOHS
as of July 31, 2019 will be invited to join us Monday night. While the results are tabulated for the DPCA Top 20, NOHS owners and their dogs will be individually invited into the ring, asked to move their dog and be presented with a personalized rosette. All previous winners of the AKC NOHS final are also invited to attend and be recognized.
The National Sweepstakes will be an
Owner Handled Sweepstakes
again this year. Entries equaled those of the Futurity stakes last year. Best puppy, best junior, best owner handled bred by, best adult, best veteran and best in sweeps prizes will be awarded. Sweeps rules are included in the Premium list and a separate National Update will published with the Owner Handled Sweeps rules.
