National Walking Day


In honor of National Walking Day today, the Prairie Fit Fitness Center indoor walking track is FREE for use all day! Additionally, we're holding a one-day flash sale! Simply purchase a track membership on April 3 and get one month FREE! That’s $65 for 13 months. PARC is open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., on April 3.

Adult Egg Hunt


It's an egg hunt just for adults (21 and over)! Relax and enjoy music, pizza, pop and the opportunity to go home with some great prizes, 6 to 8 p.m., April 12 at the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center. Pizza, pop, egg hunt and one raffle ticket are included in the fee. Additional raffle tickets will be available for purchase (cash only). Registration deadline is April 10. Don't forget to bring your basket!

Spring Fishing Derby


Bring your bait, bucket, and fishing pole to Van Horn Woods East to test your angling skills 10 to 11:30 a.m., April 20! The derby is divided into three age divisions: 3-5, 6-8, and 9-13. Awards are given for the longest fish in each age division. Participants are entered into a raffle when they sign in (winners must be present). All children must be accompanied by an adult.

DiscGolfPark Work Days


In collaboration with Discmania and Werk Force Brewing Co., there will be two volunteer work days 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., April 9 and 11 to get the new Van Horn Woods DiscGolfPark into playing shape. All are welcome and all volunteers receive a Discmania Store discount. Volunteers should bring gloves, shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows and snips, or just show up! Volunteers must fill out a volunteer form to participate.

Join the Plainfield Park District and Conservation Foundation on this annual river clean-up event 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., May 4 at Eaton Preserve. This event empowers residents to improve local rivers by removing trash from DuPage County waterways.

Give mom the gift of quality time with you this year for Mother's Day with a little paint, tea, and fun 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., May 11 at the Plainfield Township Community Center! Each participant registered receives a canvas to paint on. Refreshments are provided.

Experience cuisines from around the world with your favorite Chicagoland food trucks 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., May 18 at Bott Community Park. General admission is FREE; however, please register a free electronic ticket so we have a headcount for public works/safety and can plan accordingly.
