Nationally Known Family Foundation Calls Place of Hope the "Best Foster Care program in the United States and beyond…."
Carrie Morgridge and her husband John are cofounders of The Morgridge Family Foundation, a philanthropic organization based in Denver, Colorado. "We invest across the country and Stuart holds a special place in our hearts as we have a home here,” said Morgridge who calls Place of Hope the perfect investment for the foundation. The couple have traveled the country and the world touring and getting to know charities and just recently returned from a trip to Rwanda. They say there is no other foster care organization like Place of Hope.

"What they are doing for children is by far the best foster care program we've ever seen in the United States and beyond,” said Morgridge. “How they address the needs of children and families in the child welfare system with dignity and respect, love and faith is the whole child model that leads to success.”
Shortly after we announced our expansion into Martin County with our new Stuart Campus, Carrie and her husband John jumped at the opportunity to invest their dollars in their own community. The foundation committed a generous $100,000 gift toward our “God’s Children. Our Future.” Campaign naming our Morgridge Family Foundation Education, Training and Gathering Room. Located in our Boswell Family Education and Enrichment Academy, the space will provide life skills and independent living education and trainings for local community members, residents, and our Shade Tree Family Outreach clients, as well as for area business professionals and organizations.

“Place of Hope is so special for many reasons, from the work they do to the lives they change is enough reason to invest,” said Morgridge. "Then you look at their data, and you have to think WOW! We have been begging them to expand into our area because we have the same issues or even worse in Martin County,” said Morgridge. "For years we've been going down to Palm Beach to see their other campuses, to invest in their work, and we couldn’t be more excited to see them grow into Martin County. We've been involved with Place of Hope for nearly a decade and have just watched them grow and excel. The work they do to set up our families and kids aging out of foster care for success is incredible."
“We believe that every child could and should reach their highest human potential.” said Morgridge, "When you are abused or neglected, your chances of hitting your highest human potential are nearly gone, Place of Hope changes that scenario from desperate to thriving. They have data to prove it, children now adults thriving to prove it.”

Like Carrie and John, there has been tremendous excitement and support coming in from so many other leaders in the community. Carrie shares, it takes a village. “This project is far larger than one family can support. It will take all of us,” said Morgridge. "We're just excited to be a partner with all the other amazing families that have collectively made it possible."

She says you can see the positive energy every time a Place of Hope resident gets in front of a room full of people and shares their success. It’s because of that measured success, that Carrie and her husband plan to spread the word about Place of Hope. “At Morgridge Family Foundation, our goal is to help Place of Hope be put on the map and become a destination location so that other people can see how it is done and then grow it from there,” said Morgridge. " Our country is hungry for this program - and this program is ripe to expand and scale nationwide.”
Together with the Morgridge family and all our supporters, we are working diligently to end the cycles of abuse, neglect, homelessness, poverty, and human trafficking in South Florida. The best way for our community to break the insidious cycles of child abuse and neglect, homelessness, and further trauma is to guide young people toward their full potential, healing, and self-sufficiency.

These visionary leaders who are "Guardians" in our campaign are not only meeting the need of the local housing crisis today, but also creating a legacy and transition "the least of these" toward success!

If you desire to join the Morgridge family and help us build more critical housing during this affordability crisis, please contact us today about our "God's Children. Our Future." Campaign!
