Play Ball! CIP Finishes Working in Nationals Park Neighborhood

Have you been to a game at Nationals Park lately? Now is a great time to take in not only the play on the field, but also the tremendous revitalization that the Washington Nationals’ home stadium—completed in 2008—has brought to the Anacostia waterfront and Navy Yard district in Washington, D.C.

CIP Finishes has played an important role in many of the projects that have transformed this area into a neighborhood filled with active residents, new restaurants and lively entertainment. Those include the striking West Half mixed-use project—pictured above—developed by JBG SMITH and built by HITT Contracting.

“It’s one of the most profound turnarounds I’ve seen in the city, and it’s happened relatively quickly,” CIP Finishes President Paul Milde says of the turnaround the area has undergone.
Nicole Bragin is an important member of the CIP Finishes team, as director of accounts payable and accounts receivable. Nicole is approaching the start of her third year with us. She has grown to be our key team member handling not only money, but also a host of other miscellaneous subcontractor certifications and requirements. She keeps her eyes on the details that keep CIP Finishes projects on-schedule and on-budget.

We’re excited to be working with The Whiting Turner Contracting Company on The Highlands in Arlington’s Rosslyn neighborhood. This project by developer Penzance transforms a 2.7-acre site into three towers with nearly 900 apartments and 40,000 square feet of retail. The Highlands is a transformational project for this neighborhood, bringing more residents to what has traditionally been an office-dominated area. The Highlands will also include a state-of-the-art fire station, school and public park. Completion is expected in 2021.
Apartment Developers are Upping the Ante – CIP Finishes President Paul Milde’s feature in the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce’s regional business magazine explains how today’s apartment complexes are designed for a modern workforce and new lifestyle tastes.
