Calling New Disciples

Nativity is a vibrant and growing congregation. Have you thought about officially joining the disciples gathered at Nativity? We are in the process of bringing in a new group and would love to hear from you if you have been thinking of joining. Please contact Pastor Sean at [email protected].

All Saints Sunday

We will offer two worship services on All Saints Sunday, November 5. The 8:45 service will be a regular service with very little All Saints material. The second service will have the reading of the names, music/hymns to reflect the day... etc.  We will commemorate our members who have united with the Church Triumphant over the past year. During the prayers we will name other loved ones who have died since last All Saints Sunday (November 6, 2022). To add a name you wish to be lifted up in prayer on All Saints Sunday, November 5, please click here.

give

Thank You

to all who contributed items or money to help make 210 school kits to send to Lutheran World Relief. In addition to pencils, pens, notebooks, erasers, pencil sharpeners, rulers, and scissors, we received $1,347.49 plus a $250 Thrivent Card. This cash was used to purchase more items to complete the school kits. After filling all the backpacks, there was $193.35 left which was sent to the LWR Shipping Fund which helps fund the cost of shipping these items overseas. Thank you for enabling a child to attend school with the needed supplies and giving them a chance to learn.

Nativity Quilters

Nine quilters including two volunteers packed 12 shipping boxes for a total weight of 409 pounds. Great teamwork accomplished this task in about an hour! The next and final step for Nativity is to deliver the 12 boxes to Grace Lutheran, Hendersonville on November 8. Each box is in the 30–35 pound range. We appreciate all the contributions (monetary and fabric donations) that will now serve people in need.

Calvary Food Pantry

works year round to help people facing food insecurity, and we welcome neighbors every Saturday morning to shop from our shelves with the assistance of caring volunteers. There are volunteer positions throughout the week, too. At 8:45 Halloween morning, volunteers will sort and shelve the next Manna Food Bank delivery — 7800 pounds of food! (Dress up if you dare!) With autumn upon us, CFP is already making preparations to help our clients celebrate Thanksgiving. We expect a tremendous crowd coming for turkey and all the trimmings on Saturday, Nov. 18. Gifts of the following nonperishables will be a big help: boxes of savory herb dressing, canned cranberry sauce, turkey gravy, or cream of mushroom soup. If you prefer to make a monetary contribution, you may designate it through the offering for “CFP Thanksgiving”. Thank you!  To learn more, contact Nativity’s liaison,

Karen Rich, at 242-6403 or click here.
