Nature walk Postponed!

Due to the upcoming winter storm (20 mph winds! 10 inches of snow), we are postponing the upcoming March 4 nature walk. Please stay tuned for the rescheduled date!

We hope everyone stays safe and warm, and we look forward to some excellent snowshoeing on KLT trails!

The First Saturday Walk Series with Linda Littlefield Grenfell will continue into 2023! Join in and share her naturalist view of the area's woods and waters.

The next walk is March 4, 2023, from 10 - 11:30 a.m. The walk will be at For All Forever Preserve, with a theme of "Birds."

Each month, our friends at Kennebunk Free Library develop a book list that matches that month's walk theme.

Visit the Brick Store Museum to see the artwork of KES students who explored KLT properties and the Kennebunk environment!

Saturday, March 11 from 10 - 12 p.m. - FREE!

Show open until April 8.

Each gallery in the Brick Store Museum will focus on a natural environment in our town. Pre-K learned about Kennebunk Plains and made handprint Northern Blazing Stars and Blueberries to represent the fields. Kindergarten focused on animals who live in the woods through painted paper collage. They discussed trails such as Hope Woods and Alewive Woods Preserve. First graders learned about marsh birds and enjoyed watching the aerial view video of the Madelyn Marx Preserve. They created collage like artworks using oil pastels. Second grade artists explored creatures in the ocean and shoreline and created collaged backgrounds.

All grades discussed the trails and natural spaces in our town and how to identify the KLT signs to find where to park and access these spaces.
