Navigating the approaching 3G sunset
As we near the end of 2020, not only can we reflect on accomplishments, but we can begin to execute on our future plans. One looming project we all continue to work on is the 3G/CDMA communications sunset. As the network infrastructure continues to change, the need to increase efforts to execute on your 3G/CDMA plan is reaching a crucial stage. The sunset date for both AT&T and Verizon is fast approaching, with February 2022 being the final date. There is no guarantee coverage will continue up to that date. In fact, many areas have already lost 3G coverage.

Most major manufacturers have replacement communication modules along with upgrade incentives to help offset some of the upfront cost. The manufacturers have increased their efforts to provide additional training through virtual webinars and videos to ensure that all installers have the information that they need to complete changeouts.
