Have no experience or training - no worries - we will connect you!
Community Intervener
Interveners provide communication and social support in the community. They can support their students at home, at the pool, in physical and occupational therapy, community events, family outings, and much more.
Support Service Provider
Support Service Providers work with deafblind people who seek equal access to sight and environmental information while navigating in the world.

Congratulations to our 2024-25 fiscal year grant award recipients. We received ten applications requesting a total of $92,690 in funding. Five organizations were awarded grants for a total of $49,945 in funding.

Fun facts about the staff of the Colorado Commission for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind. | Luke Adams was the first deaf contestant on The Amazing Race, an American reality competition television show. Teams of two race around the world to complete challenges with teamwork. The first to finish the final leg of the race wins the season. | |
Luke competed with his mother, Margie, in Season 14. Luke and Margie won the first leg of the race and ended in the top three teams. They took third place for the season.
The duo came back to compete in “Unfinished Business (Season 18) and for a third time in “All-Stars” Season 24.

Communication Access Services Advisory Council Meetings
Advisory council meetings for the Communication Access Services Program are on hold until further notice. This includes meetings for both the Legal and Rural Communication Access Service Programs.

Legal Communication Access Services Advisory Council
The Legal Communication Access Services Advisory Council (LCASAC) shall convene a five-member advisory council. The council shall meet at least two times per year to consult with the Legal Communication Access Services program staff and make recommendations.
Rural Communication Access Services Advisory Council
The Rural Communication Access Services Advisory Council (RCASAC) as defined shall convene a five-member advisory council. The council shall meet at least two times per year to consult with the Rural Communication Access Services program staff and make recommendations. CCDHHDB is recruiting representatives to be part of the first RCAS advisory council — if you are interested in serving, please call the CCDHHDB office or email cas.ccdhhdb@state.co.us.

State Holiday - Frances Xavier Cabrini Day | | |
Monday, Oct. 7, 2024
Our office will be closed on the first Monday in October in observance of Frances Xavier Cabrini Day. The holiday was created to replace Columbus Day by House Bill 20-1031, signed into law by Governor Polis on March 20, 2020. Cabrini Day is the first state-paid legal holiday in the nation to recognize a woman.

DeafBlind Advisory Council Meeting | | |

Online Zoom registration is required
The DeafBlind Advisory Council Meeting is typically held every other month on the third Thursday. Anyone is welcome to attend whether they are deafblind themselves, a family member, a professional working with deafblind individuals, or a stakeholder of the deaf, hard of hearing, and deafblind communities.
The Zoom meeting link will open before the meeting at 3:30 pm for technology set up. This allows for everyone to get comfortable and test their technology so that the meeting can start on time, at 4 p.m.
