LEADING
The word “leading” echos around our house a lot since we began working with The Navigators ministry a year ago.
Learning to lead leaders
This spring, I (Tom) was invited by the Navigators to become better equipped as a leader by taking part in a 9 mo. leadership development program. This involves shepherding others well by learning from other Navigator leaders, doing lots of reading and writing projects and talking with an amazing mentor regularly.
Leading our local team
The leadership development program has been very timely as I have accepted the role of leading our local Nav 20s staff team. This includes four paid staff and other volunteer ministry leaders as we seek to know Christ, make him known and help others do the same™️.
Please pray for us to equip 20s young adults in our community in this way.
Leading young adults
Although I now have many responsibilities in leading our local staff team, Lisa and I continue to host a growing small group of 20-somethings in our home, as well as meet individually for Bible study and mentoring with several young adult men and women each week.
Leaning on the greatest leader of all
Last week, Lisa led a Bible study on Jesus as the Good Shepherd (John 10), and how his sheep know his voice and follow his lead. It’s our desire to follow Jesus’ leading in all these things we are doing. Please pray for us to have wisdom, discernment and be people who stay connected to the vine (John 15) as we lead others for His glory.
P.S. For those of you interested in what Abby is doing — she is the marketing specialist for Cross Purpose, a non-profit ministry in Denver which provides hope and job training for people living in poverty. She wrote and produced this video and interviewed several of the people in it, who, coincidentally, are referred to as…Leaders! https://youtu.be/hmn05VTg3nE .
Thankful for your partnership!
