German Democratic Republic in Construction (Deutsche Demokratische Republik im Aufbau) was the GDR's early photo journal in the wake of its 1949 founding. It was published bi-monthly from 1951-56 and illustrated industry, agriculture, public works and cultural evolution commencing in that country along with articles about national celebrities and persons from everyday life.
German Democratic Republic in Construction was published in a large format with color photography similar in size and style as the 1949 issues of USSR in Construction. This journal was published in Berlin from 1951 to 1952 no. 5 by Tägliche Rundschau and thereafter in Dresden by Sächsische Zeitung and included English, German, French, Polish and Russian language editions.
