Positive Refugee update

We are happy to report that the ceasefire at the border is holding steady and most of the families have returned home. In the Peaksneang district, we have only 64 families left with a total of 218 people. Included are 11 older people and 34 kids.

For as long as needed CCDO will continue to give regular food parcels and ensure the comfort and safety of these refugees. Many thanks to those who kindly donated to our refugee program. For now we have enough funds to continue the supply of food.

English Literacy Training Program (ELTP) Update

Anglong Veng is one of our main ELTP sites and situated close to the Thai Border where there was conflict. For the past few weeks, we halted the program as most people fled the area. However, we are pleased to announce that 80% of the teachers are back in school and excited to continue their ELTP program.

We also conduct training in the Sotnikum district and were honored to host a visit of the donors, Child’s Dream Cambodia.

Together with our CCDO director, Ms. Sem Sovoan our team organized the classroom observation and coaching at Komrou Srok Primary School for Child's Dream Cambodia team. We sat down in the classroom at the back with the CDC's team and showed them the procedure of conducting the classroom observation and coaching with the teacher checklist. Together with CDC's team we provided helpful comments and feedback on the teachers' teaching performance.

Teacher Farewell

Mariny, our computer lab teacher at TaBrok school, has changed position to be our Digital Literacy teacher and she said a fond farewell to her students. She gave them each small gifts of books and supplies to show her appreciation of them being excellent students. The smiles of the students were her reward. We are excited to have Mariny help many teachers and principals improve their use of computers for better teaching and school administration.

Donors

Once again, our guardian angel, Starr Moore, has generously donated $10,000 to our general fund as well as $2,000 toward feeding the refugees.
