UNO High School
Business Competition
The University of Nebraska at Omaha Center for Economic Education co-hosted a High School Business Competition on February 3, 2017 with UNO College of Business Administration’s Scholars Academy. The event brought close to 200 students from 18 schools to campus. $10,000 in scholarships to UNO's College of Business Administration were awarded to competition winners. In addition, $2500 scholarships to the Entrepreneurial Living Learning Community  were given to the students who placed in the top 3 of the Entrepreneurship test.  The day featured competitions in the following categories:
  • Accounting
  • Banking & Financial Systems
  • Business Calculations
  • Business Math
  • Economics
  • Introduction to Business
  • Marketing
  • Personal Finance

First place overall tie awarded to Arlington and Syracuse, Waverly was second overall and third overall went to both Lincoln East and Omaha Marion. For a complete listing of all winners click here link to winners

Economics for Student Leaders

Economics for Student Leaders event was held at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln on Wednesday February 15, 2017.  This event brought over 120 students from 12 Nebraska high schools to campus. The workshop was led by the Foundation for Teaching Economics and hosted by the UNL Center for Economic Education. Some of the  topics addressed included:
  • Thinking Like an Economist
  • What is Poverty?
  • Institutions Matter
  • Ultimatum Game
The students had the opportunity to discuss various economic concepts in a fun, interactive setting. Participating students also learned more about what the College of Business and UNL has to offer.
