Administration for Children and Families Secondary Analyses of Head Start Data
The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) is soliciting applications for Secondary Analyses of Head Start Data awards. These awards aim to support researchers conducting secondary analyses of data of relevance to Head Start (HS) programs and policies.
This includes research of relevance to HS programs serving families with children 3 to 5 years old; Early HS programs serving pregnant women and families with infants and toddlers; American Indian Alaska Native (AI/AN) HS programs serving families in tribal communities; and Migrant and Seasonal HS programs serving families engaged in migrant and seasonal farm work.
The goals of the awards are to: 1) Address topics of current relevance to the goals and outcomes of HS programs; 2) Encourage active communication, networking and collaboration among prominent HS researchers and policymakers; and 3) Increase the capacity of HS researchers to analyze existing data sets and disseminate their findings to multiple audiences.
Estimated total program funding: $1 million
Award budget: $90,000 – $100,000

Child Care Policy Research Partnerships, Secondary Analyses of Child Care and Early Education Data
The Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation in the Administration for Children and Families is soliciting applications in 2024 for two new research grant programs. Findings from both programs are intended to inform policy, program administration and future research.

Secondary Analyses of Child Care and Early Education Data
Proposals will support researchers conducting secondary analyses of data to address key questions of relevance to the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF).
Award budget: $90,000–$100,000

Child Care Policy Research Partnerships
Proposals will support five-year cooperative agreements between Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Lead Agencies in states, territories or tribes, and research partnership organizations to develop investigations of child care subsidy policies and practices to increase low-income families’ access to quality child care.
Award budget: $100,000–$400,000

Funding Forecast: Access to Infant and Toddler Care and Education: Research and Evaluation Grants
The Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation in the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) plans to solicit applications for Access to Infant and Toddler Care and Education: Research and Evaluation Grants.
This grant opportunity will provide funding to address key research and evaluation questions related to care and education access for infants and toddlers at the national, state or local level.
Estimated award budget: $75,000–$450,000

Funding Forecast: OPRE Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Lead Agency Data and Research Capacity Grants
This grant opportunity will provide funding to support partnerships between CCDF Lead Agencies and researchers to develop and improve state, territory and Tribal data systems and build the capacity of CCDF Lead Agencies to collect, analyze and use data to guide child care policy decisions and program improvement efforts.
These 18-month projects will fund a planning phase to develop a research plan to address questions of interest to the CCDF Lead Agency, including a plan for identifying, linking and using state, territory and Tribal data to inform child care policy decisions.
Estimated award budget: $75,000–$150,000

These grants support rigorous, intellectually ambitious and technically sound research that is relevant to the most pressing questions and compelling opportunities in education. the Spencer Foundation values work that fosters creative and open-minded scholarship, engages in deep inquiry, and examines robust questions related to education. They seek to support scholarship that develops new foundational knowledge that may also have a lasting impact on policy-making, practice or educational discourse.

Racial Equity Research Grants
The Racial Equity Research Grants program supports education research projects that will contribute to understanding and ameliorating racial inequality in education. Focus is on studies that aim to understand and disrupt the reproduction and deepening of inequality in education, and which seek to (re)imagine and make new forms of equitable education.
Award budget: Up to $75,000

The Large Research Grants on Education Program supports education research projects that will contribute to the improvement of education, broadly conceived, with budgets ranging from $125,000 to $500,000 for projects ranging from one to five years.

2024 CYFS Early Childhood Research Summit
This Tuesday, April 23, 2024
8 a.m. – 4 p.m. CDT
The seventh biennial summit will consist of several presentations and related roundtable discussions on the research and practices that are improving the developmental trajectories of young children.
The summit's keynote speaker is Chrishana Lloyd, a research scholar in early childhood development at Child Trends, one of the nation’s most respected sources for research and data on children. With more than 25 years of experience in education and social science, Lloyd is an expert in applied implementation research, racial equity framing in a historical context, innovative data collection methods, and early care and education workforce issues and initiatives.

National Research Conference on Early Childhood
June 24-26, 2024

This conference focuses on the latest research surrounding Head Start, Early Head Start, child care, home visiting, child welfare, special education, pre-kindergarten, early elementary and other childhood programs. It includes plenary sessions, paper symposia, poster symposia, poster sessions and informal events.
Select symposia will be livestreamed for those who wish to attend virtually. There is no cost to register, and all in-person and virtual participants must register to attend.

The annual meeting of the International Society for Developmental Psychology (ISDP) includes oral and poster sessions for individual, free-standing research presentations which benefit both the presenters and audience from high levels of interaction and discussion. Lively debate and discussion during these interactive oral and poster sessions is encouraged.
The ISDP is an international organization that encourages research on the development of behavior with special attention to the effects of biological factors.
