On 1/07/21, Senator Steve Erdman of Bayard introduced LR 11 CA/LB 133, the EPIC Consumption Tax.
This legislative package eliminates Nebraska's current tax structure and replaces it with one consumption-based tax, eliminating confiscatory taxes on both property and income.
Last year we ended the 106th Nebraska Legislative Session without advancing LR 300 CA out of the Revenue Committee. This year Sen. Erdman has re-introduced the constitutional amendment resolution with a companion implementation bill, LB133.
Revenue Committee Hearing

Consumption Tax Act
Wednesday, February 3, 1:30 PM
Nebraska State Capitol, Lincoln
Help make the perfect solution to Nebraska's tax problem happen!
Objective:
Provide testimony at the hearing so this legislation can advance!
What you can do:
- Best: Travel to Lincoln to testify in person. (Bring 12 copies of your written testimony to hand to the clerk.)
- Second Best: Email written testimony with your own experience

Your testimony should reference the legislation as a package, "LR11CA/LB133". Then you will have to testify only once.
The State of Nebraska has announced new rules for email testimony this year. If you want your email testimony to become part of the hearing record, you must submit testimony to revpl@leg.ne.gov, with the words, "Please include my comments in the public record." We recommend sending the same email, including those words, to the Committee Chairperson, Sen. Lou Ann Linehan (email address below).
Remember, your email must arrive at the email address, revpl@leg.ne.gov, by 12 Noon the day before, Tuesday, February 2nd, to be entered as part of the official record on LR11CA/LB133. Include your home address and the statement "I support LR11CA & LB133" in your email. Your testimony should be clear, concise (short), and reflect your personal experience.
